![]() ![]() ![]() I can't wait for The Raid 3 if it ever happens. Now, I have to watch Merantau, the director's first film. Still, both of them are incredible and some of my favorite action films of all time. And the tiny long-haired guy who was such a bad-ass in the final fight of the first one was brought back for nothing. I also thought that Hammer Girl was wasted. While 2 is also a near masterpiece and has significantly better cinematography, I thought the action scenes were a tiny bit underwhelming compared to the first one and I was surprised by the amount of story. For what it's worth, I actually thought the first one was slightly better. I watch everything with subtitles, even films with english audio since I'm not a native speaker and sometimes I struggle with some accents.Īnyway, I also watched the Raid 1& 2 for the first time this week and they both blew my mind, I can't wait to watch them again. How to watch online, stream, rent or buy The Raid in Australia + release dates, reviews and trailers. Unless you're watching a cheesy 70s Godzilla film you should avoid them. Why did you even bother watching a dub? Asian films always have the worse dubs. But then I guess you could argue, the moments you want to watch (the fight scenes), there wouldn't be much talking anyway. I'm thinking about watching the next film with just English subtitles - the only problem being, is that I'll be staring at the text a lot rather than the actual scenes. I can't imagine that the original Indonesian script had *that* much swearing, but hey, what do I know. I mean I'm not one to normally say that as a complaint, but in this film, it was way too excessive - both liberally and unnecessarily used in many instances. I appreciate there's not much you can do with the quality of it when it's not the original actors speaking, but my god there is way too much swearing. One downside I will mention (although it's not inherently the film's fault) is the god awful English dubbing. It was an adrenaline rush all the way through and I definitely want more - now onto the Raid II.
